Alison has been in the beauty business 22 years and has gathered a wealth of beauty knowledge over the years. She actually began her training under the watchful eye of Mary in BEAUTY MATTERS over 23 years ago!!!!
Alison took the plunge in 2003 to open her own business. In 2011, she moved to a larger premise and in 2016 she saw a chance to develop her business more and teamed up with Vogue Hair & Beauty.
She now operates from NORTH CIRCULAR ROAD near big Dunnes and works closely with the Hairdressers and Make-up Artist within the business to provide a one stop Hair and Beauty shop.
Over the years Alison developed a keen interest in Skin and how it works.
Skin is her passion and she loves nothing more than to help someone correct a skin problem. If she doesn’t have the answer you can be sure she will research and find the solution to your skin.
Alison has trained as a paramedical skincare therapist and works EXCLUSIVLY with brands such as Sothys, DMK, and Skinbase
She specialized in Microdermabrasion, Enzyme Therapy, Glycolic peels and Dmk skin peels.
Alison is always at hand to offer some advice on your Skincare and Beauty needs and she guarantees you will leave her salon feeling fabulous…

Q1 What is your favorite Facial?
A1… I really love the facials that you can see results after one treatment, and some fantastic long-term results after a course.
Therefore, Skinbase microdermabrasion is my top facial. I am known to be found lugging this machine around to take it home to treat myself!
I love how deep microdermabrasion can exfoliate your skin and how fresh it looks after. It is a great facial when your skin needs a seriously good pick me up. My love of Skinbase MD facial comes from the results you can achieve in a short space of time. It really softens fine lines and brightens the skin complexion so much I have had clients stop wearing make-up… it is brilliant at resurfacing the skin. The microdermabrasion brand I use is of very good quality and I myself have got great results.

Q3 How does Microdermabrasion work?
A3 A wand delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals will be passed over the skin. Dead skin particles will be abraded away and a vacuum action will remove the debris. This dual action will both resurface the skin and stimulate the blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself and produce collagen and elastin. After passing across the skin area once, we will then target problem areas.
Alison will decide the Vacuum pressure, crystal flow, the speed and movement of each handpiece pass, as well as the number of repeated strokes over the same area of skin depending on your skin needs.
Q4 How often and how many treatments would you recommend?
A4 If you are just looking for a pick me up 1 treatment works well; however, I highly advise my clients to rebook every 6 weeks to keep their skin in top condition.
If you have a skin issue you want to resolve then a course is best.
In order for MD to work you should have a facial every 7-10 day and I normally advise a course of 5 for most conditions
Then I recommend you have a treatment every 6-8 week to maintain your results. I do this as our skin is constantly exposed to the environment and life stresses and constantly changing with the seasons. It is important to keep up your skincare routine to maintain good skin health.
Q5 HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
A5…. The Skinbase MICRODERMABRASION FACIAL cost €60 per facial. When you book a course of 5 you get 1 FREE treatment total cost is €240.
